The system is composed of several subsystems to support the two major modes of messaging applications namely:

The push mode involves the information provider sending a message to the customer without the customer requesting that specific message.

The pull mode requires the customer to send a message to the system before a response is sent back to him.

eBSEG eMessaging is composed of the following sub-systems:

• eBSEG eMessaging-Manual Push Manager is the subsystem giving the facility to send messages manually.

• eBSEG eMessaging-SQL Push Manager is the subsystem giving the facility to send messages to a group of customer selected using an SQL query.

• eBSEG eMessaging-Event Push Manager is the subsystem giving the facility to send messages to a group of customer selected using an event-checking module that determines who and when to send a certain message to indicate a certain event.

• eBSEG eMessaging-Pull Request Manager is the subsystem giving the facility to the customer to send a message to eBSEG eMessaging so that it can eventually get the required information or perform the requested operation and answer back.

• eBSEG eDispatcher subsystem is used by all the above subsystems in order to route and communicate with the messaging channels. eBSEG eDispatcher is used to support the following end user channels : Email, SMS, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo Messenger, Outbound IVR, Inbound IVR, GSM Cell Broadcast and Bill Inserts.
